Road Conditions Blamed For Fatal Accident On Saturday

One person was killed and three others were sent to the hospital after dangerous conditions on Saturday led to an accident.

It happened about 8:20pm Saturday night on US 87 about a mile north of Riviera Park Drive.

43-year-old Shannon Hensley of Texhoma, Oklahoma and a passenger were traveling in a pickup, south on US 87 and going too fast for conditions.  The pickup went out of control and swerved off the road striking a parked van.  The van was pushed back and the pickup was flipped on the driver's side.

42-year-old Crystal Gonzales, a passenger in the pickup was killed in the accident and pronounced dead on the scene.  The driver of the pickup, Hensley was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital in stable condition.

Two people inside the van also sustained injuries and we also transported to Northwest Texas.
