Have you or someone you know bonded out of Randall County recently?  There's a scandal making the rounds you need to know about.

The Randall County Sheriff's Office is warning the public of a new scam that attempts to extort money from people who have been bonded out of jail.

According to the Randall County Sheriff's Office targets are being contacted by phone by someone who identifies themselves as representing the bail bond company or the Sheriff's Office.  The scamming caller tells the target they have to pay their bond in full immediately or their bond will be revoked and they will be re-arrested.

If you have fallen victim to this scam you should contact your bail bond agent immediately to verify the status of your bond.  The Randall County Sheriff's Office reminds you that bonds can only be revoked or surrendered through the court.

The Randall County Sheriff's Office also says they will never call to require someone to pay more money to stay free on bond.
