We live in a do-it-yourself world and now Texas is getting ready to help marriages on the rocks DIY their way to divorce.

The Texas Supreme Court has recognized that some low income unhappy couples in Texas may be unable to afford a lawyer to reconcile their differences.  In 2011 58,000 Texas residents filed lawyer-less cases.

The court has decided to move forward on developing a form for filing uncontested divorces from marriages without children or real estate.  The form will be published in the Texas Bar Journal for public comment until the end of January.
