On Friday deputies from Potter County seized approximately $2 million worth of meth during a traffic stop on I-40.

Deputies pulled over a Chevy Tahoe on I-40 west for a traffic violation.  The deputies were given permission to search the vehicle.  During the search a spare tire was discovered that weighed more and was more dense than a regular spare tire.

The vehicle was transported to an auto shop where the tire was disassembled.  Inside the tire were approximately 42 pounds of methamphetamine.  Potter County Sheriffs estimate the street value of the drugs at $2 million.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and booked in Potter County for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.
