The state of Texas is being sued by Planned Parenthood for being excluded from a program that offers contraception to women.

They have stated that any law that excludes abortion providers from participating in the Women's Health Program to be unconstitutional and therefore discrimination.

"If enforced, the affiliate rule will cause irreparable harm to plaintiffs and to tens of thousands of low-income women seeking family planning and other preventive health services," the suit alleges.

Federal funding has been cut to the state of Texas over this very law, stating that Texas violated federal law. The Federal government says that the law brought forth by conservative republicans and signed into law by governor Perry denies women to choose their health care provider.
