Palo Duro High School Teacher Names National Teacher Of The Year

Shanna Peeple's has been named 2015 National Teacher Of The Year. She bested teachers across the county and is the first Texas Teacher to win the honor since 1957.

Peeple's is an English teacher at Palo Duro High School.  She was recognized for meeting the challenge of teaching a student body made up of refugees from several countries and students falling well below the poverty line.

She's in Washington DC today to receive the honor in a ceremony from President Obama..
