Overnight Shooting In Amarillo Under Investigation

Amarillo police responded to an aggravated assault early Monday morning.

Police were called to the 900 block of South Kentucky.  Upon arrival they found a 35-year-old male victim with gunshot wounds to the arm and leg.

The victim told police that someone kicked in his door and an unknown number of assailants entered the house and shot him.  The victim was unable to provide a description or any possible reason for being targeted.

Officers rendered first aid and called an ambulance.  The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting is still under investigation.
