Man Gets Beat With Wooden Board During Home Invasion

Yesterday Amarillo police responded to the 300 block of Central Ave on a trespassing call.

26-year-old Joe Brewer had allegedly kicked in the victim's door and began fighting with the resident, a 22-year-old male.  During the altercation, Brewer picked up a board a struck the victim before fleeing the house.

The suspect was discovered by police several houses down.  The assailant immediately began assaulting the officer.  A second office arrived to assist and was able to tase the subject and take him into custody.

The officer and victim were treated at the scene. Brewer was arrested on several charges and was booked into Potter County.
