Changes are once again coming to the downtown Amarillo skyline. Pending all the approvals needed, FirstBank Southwest has announced they are moving into the former Chase Tower downtown.

In a press release, FirstBank Southwest says they have signed a lease to occupy space on the first floor of the building – which will now be the FirstBank Southwest Tower. Preliminary plans are in place for renovations and installation of signage on the building.

They state that increased "demand for a full-service branch has prompted FirstBank Southwest to expand its footprint in downtown Amarillo. The bank has many downtown customers, and we are excited to provide a convenient location to better serve their banking needs."

“We are excited to be branded on the tallest building in the area! This opportunity has not been available for a local bank since 1971, and we believe now is the perfect time with the revitalization happening in downtown,” Andy Marshall, CEO/President of FirstBank Southwest said.

Pending all the approvals needed, they anticipate opening at the new tower location in the late Fall. No word yet on how soon the name could be installed along the top of the building.
