We will be seeing a couple of new laws in Texas this new year. How you get your car titles, required materials to combat human trafficking, and phasing out the TAKS test.

The Department of Motor Vehicles will be issuing copies of car titles and not originals. Most residents agreed that having an official title or certified title didn't matter as long as you have proof the vehicle belongs to you.

House Bill 29 will now require sexually oriented businesses to post materials in bathrooms about human trafficking, these materials will include a hotline number for victims to call and information about the National Human Trafficking Resource Center.

Senate Bill 463 will prevent schools from using the TAKS test, which has been phased out and replaced with the STAAR test in accordance with Texas Senate Bill 1031.

New potential laws will be debated in the coming weeks.
