64 employees of the Amarillo call office for Nationwide Insurance received 60 day notices that their jobs are being 'phased out'. While they are being offered severance packages, they are still being thrust into a job market that really isn't hiring in this "recovery".

The company will retain 325 employees that handle existing accounts. The positions being phased out were incoming call positions and online application employees. These employees that are losing their jobs have the option to apply for similar positions for which they are hiring.

This will not affect policy holders in anyway and shouldn't impact local Nationwide Independent Agents.
