Multi-Million Dollar Bond For AISD On May 11th Ballot

AISD is busted past the seams and relief is planned via a bond election next month.

Currently AISD employs the use off 156 portable buildings.  This is a graphic indicator of the need for expanding and upgrading the school district.  And with recent incidents of school violence there is a need to beef up school security across the district.

It has been determined $99,450,000 dollars will be needed to eliminate the portable buildings with school expansion and added security.  To generate the funds for these projects the issue has been put on the ballot for the May 11th election.

If approved the bond would cost $17.50 per $100,000 of property value.
