Motorcyclist Killed In Accident In South Amarillo

Another motorcycle tragedy occured yesterday when a local Amarillo man was killed after striking a vehicle while riding a motorcycle. This story is all too familiar to people in Amarillo. This seems to happen more and more during the summer months.

The man who suffered serious injuries when the motorcycle he was riding struck a pickup south of Amarillo Monday afternoon died of his injuries, the Department of Public Safety said.

Jimmie Dee Mitchell, 46, of Amarillo, about 4:40 p.m. was riding a Kawazaki motorcycle northbound on Washington Street

Mitchell was reported as not wearing a helmet.
