More preseason polls have been released and West Texas A&M teams continue to be picked near the top.

After winning the title last year, the West Texas A&M women's soccer team is again the favorite to win the Lone Star Conference this season.  The Lady Buffs captured 10 of the 18 first-place votes for 109 total points to rank in front of Texas A&M-Commerce.

In men's soccer, WT was selected third in the 2018 Heartland Conference Men’s Soccer Preseason Poll. Troy Reeves, Ivan Ulloa and Julio Vargas were named to the Preseason All-Conference Team.  Midwestern State and St. Edwards were the two teams ahead of the Buffs in the voting.

The men's cross country team from WT is picked to finish first in the Lone Star Conference this fall. The Buffs earned 15 first-place votes for a total of 207 points in the men’s poll, edging out Tarleton State for the top spot. The WT men have won the LSC five straight years.

The Lady Buffs cross country team came in second in the women's division poll, not far behind the favorite, Tarleton State.
