NEW YORK (AP) — The driver who posted an Internet video of himself speeding around Manhattan in just over 24 minutes may have to permanently give up his car.

The Daily News (http://nydn.us/1b3eaEr ) says police asked a judge to order Adam Tang to forfeit the 2006 BMW Z4 used in the Aug. 28 ride.

Police cited a city law that allows them to seize vehicles used to commit a crime.

The 30-year-old was charged with reckless driving.

A dashboard-mounted camera recorded the BMW along the 26.4-mile loop. It showed it stopping for six red lights.

Tang told a car culture blog at the time that "being a fast driver doesn't mean that you're inherently a bad or reckless driver."
