Though most would consider missing a leg to be a disability, 55-year-old Stephen Cornell used it to his advantage last Wednesday when he took down a robber at a neighborhood convenience store.

The Massachusetts man said he peered inside the window at the store and saw a robber pointing a gun at the owner. Without thinking, Cornell stuck out his prosthetic leg and tripped the robber as he left the store. After he and owner Edson Andrade disarmed the thief, they dragged him back inside and called police.

Cornell has had his prosthetic leg since he lost his leg at the age of 12.
