Learning Local Getting More Expensive After Amarillo College Raises Tuition
Our area is truly blessed to have an institution of higher learning in our own backyard. It is a wonderful stepping stone for young and old looking to improve themselves. But it isn’t free and next semester is going to hurt a bit more.
AC is facing a budget shortfall after the state legislature slashed funding by $6.6 million. The difference is going to have to come from somewhere. That somewhere is students.

For students attending on their or their parent’s dime however, tuition is going up $7 per credit hour. For a typical student with a nine hour course load that would mean an extra $63 per semester.
But you really can’t put a price on a college education, no matter how hard society tries to.
