The water levels at Lake Meredith are low and the opportunity to enjoy the lake has decreased.  This has the benefit of seeing options for cleaning the lake on the increase.

These opportunities are in the form of summer jobs as part of the National Park Service's Summer Youth Work Program.  Seven students started work yesterday.  The work mainly involves cleaning the dry lake bed areas of refuse now visible, thanks to the receding water.

Some suspect people have been dumping their trash into the lake.  The workers have picked up everything from old furniture to beer cans.
