The Lady Buffs were named an at-large selection as the seventh seed in the South Central Region Tournament. The Lady Buffs will meet second seeded and #12 ranked Tarleton State on Thursday, November 30th at a time to be determined in Denver, Colorado.

"Really happy for our kids that have worked their tails off the last month and a half to put us in this position, we went thru some growing pains with a young team early in the year but our kids know the tradition of this program and that the NCAA Tournament is expected every year" said head coach Jason Skoach. "This is a testament to how difficult the LSC and South Central Region are, every match is a battle in this league and this region. Now the challenge re-focusing and getting a young team ready for the NCAA Postseason."

The 26 appearances by the Lady Buffs is the fifth most all-time as they carry an overall winning percentage of .690 into the 2017 South Central Regional Championship which is third best in DII history. West Texas A&M has registered 49 program victories in the NCAA Tournament which is third in history with 13 Elite Eight appearances and three Division II National Championships.

The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Champion #9 Rangers of Regis will serve as the top seed and host of the event in Denver. LSC regular season and tournament champion #12 Tarleton State picked up the second seed followed by Metro State, #18 Colorado School of Mines, Angelo State, Texas A&M-Commerce, WT and Heartland Tournament Champion St. Mary's.
