John Edwards Forced To Payback $2.3 Million In Campaign Funds

The Federal Election Commission has voted 6-0 to force John Edwards to payback $2.3 million in campaign funds from his failed 2008 Presidential bid.

This issue is not connected to the criminal conspiracy case against him.  His trial is scheduled to start in October.  He pleaded not guilty to the charges in June.

The commission ruled that the $2.3 million is in excess of matching funds.
