A federal judge in Amarillo has scheduled a court date to determine the mental capacity of former JetBlue pilot that caused his plane to land in a hurry at Rick Husband Airport.

Clayton Osbon faces several charges in connection with his March 27th outburst on a flight bound for Las Vegas.  He could potentially spend up to 20 years in prison.

The hearing scheduled for Friday is to determine if he is mentally competent for trial.

Osbon was the captain of the flight.  Shortly after leaving the cockpit he ran screaming through the cabin about terrorists and religion.  He had to be subdued and held by passengers until the plane's unscheduled landing.
