As the ongoing crisis in Japan unfolds on our television screens the effects of the disaster are being felt in Dallas.

It seems like this tragedy is playing out with a higher degree of information regurgitation than usual.  Obviously information is low and interest is high but when the media can't agree what exactly the term "meltdown" means leaves most of us with a conflicted message coming along with the shocking pictures out of Japan.

It should come as no surprise this disaster will affect us in ways we can't foresee.  Like today for example.  The NY Post is reporting that radiation has been detected on a plane and on its passengers from Tokyo that landed at DFW.

I hope we've got those detectors here in Amarillo!

UPDATE: DFW claims the radiation was from medical cargo and not from Tokyo.  Doesn't make me feel any better.
