Gas Prices In Texas Up A Nickel

IRVING, Texas (AP) — Retail gasoline prices have risen a nickel this week across Texas.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average price at the pump has reached $3.43 per gallon. Gasoline prices nationally rose 4 cents this week to hit $3.61 per gallon.

Drivers in Dallas-Fort Worth are paying the most statewide for gasoline, at $3.49 per gallon. Association officials say El Paso has the cheapest gasoline this week at $3.30 per gallon.

Refiners must switch to producing summer-blend gasoline by May 1 as part of spring fuel updates. AAA officials say seasonal refinery maintenance and the changeover to the new blend increases the chances of a disruption to production, which can push gasoline prices higher.
