Fun Things Going On At Coffee Memorial Blood Center
I got another email from Coffee Memorial Blood Center I thought I'd share. There's never been a better time to be a hero.
James G -- Our Boots vs. Badges promotion is ongoing for July and August. Every eligible donor who presents to donate will receive a Boots vs. Badges t-shirt and can vote for their favorite area heroes -- firefighters or law enforcement. A traveling trophy will be presented to the winner at a charity softball game between the Boots and the Badges on Saturday, September 10, at the Amarillo Sox field. In addition, below is the information for our extra incentive for Movie Theater Thursdays in July just at Coffee Memorial Blood Center, 7500 Wallace Blvd.
DETAILS:
The blood supply has been struggling as it always does in the summer months. The Boots vs. Badges Kick-Off Event gained us a little stability but there's still room to improve. Kids are out of school, people are traveling and outdoor activities are increased so donors are not as available to donate. However, for those same reasons, blood usage potentially goes up. We especially need type O's -- type O+ because it is the most common blood type and type O- because it is the universal donor and can be given to anyone in a crisis. As a special thank you to donors who do take that extra time out of their busy days to come donate at the blood center, we would like to offer an extra incentive -- a movie ticket.
On Thursdays in July in-center only, 7500 Wallace Blvd., every eligible donor who presents will still vote on the sign-in sheet for their favorite local heroes -- firefighters or law enforcement. Eligible donors will receive a t-shirt and will also receive a complimentary United Artist Amarillo Star 14 movie pass. Dates and incentives for this promotion are attached and additional details are below:
- Thursday, July 7 -- Eligible donors who present to donate will receive a Boots vs. Badges t-shirt, can vote for their favorite local heroes and will receive ONE complimentary United Artists Amarillo Star 14 general movie pass.
- Thursday, July 14 -- Eligible donors who present to donate will receive a Harry Potter t-shirt and ONE complimentary United Artists Amarillo Star 14 ticket to the midnight premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 on July 15. NOTE: This movie ticket is non-refundable and is good only for the midnight premiere of Harry Potter on Thursday (which is actually Friday, July 15, since it is at midnight -- staff in-center at Coffee will make sure donors receiving the tickets understand that). Donors who would prefer a Boots vs. Badges shirt on this day may have one instead of the Harry Potter t-shirt. (CUMULUS AND TOWNSQUARE REMOTES)
