Science has given us all kinds of putty.  Silly putty being the one that comes to mind first.  Then there's grout putty, wall putty and now Fracture Putty.  Not for drilling more oil out of the ground, but for healing broken bones faster.

Fracture Putty is in animal testing now but has show to work wonders.  Injected into a recently fractured and set bone it creates a rapid regeneration of the bone thanks to some adult stem cells.

It has now been proven to work in animals as small as rats and as large as sheep, but the research must be proven on yet larger animals before human trials can begin.  The Defense Department is helping to fund the trials.  Its only a matter of time before cattle and elephant legs are broken in the name of science.

If you are planning to break a bone you might want to wait a two or three years.
