The Great Southwest Collegiate League is bringing four new teams to the Amarillo area.

The Great Southwest Collegiate League is a baseball organization for college athletes who compete in summer tournaments. The coaches come from various baseball programs across different conferences.

The Amarillo Eagles, Canyon CageRats, Palo Duro Dillas, and Red Dirt Rattlers will compete in the Panhandle Division this year. These teams will play at the Potter County Memorial Stadium.

The league also has four Dallas Metroplex teams: the Arlington Aces, Dallas DirtBags, Fort Worth Whitetails, and Grand Prairie Pilots.

The teams will compete within their divisions, then in a championship series. The winner will advance to the National Baseball Congress World Series in Kansas, which takes place at the very end of July.

The Palo Duro Dillas will play their first game against the Canyon CageRats on June 1st at 4 p.m., followed by the Amarillo Eagles vs. the Red Dirt Rattlers at 7 p.m.

Anyone interested in playing for the GSWCL must be a high-performance athlete with college eligibility.

If you are interested in playing, being a host parent, or attending the games, visit the GSWCL website for more information.
