First Death In 2013 From West Nile In The Area Reported
The first death attributed to West Nile Virus in our area has been reported in New Mexico.The New Mexico State Department of Health reports an 83-year-old man from Curry County has died after being hospitalized for encephalitis. Encephalitis is the more severe form of the disease.
The department also reports a 66-year-old woman, also from Curry County is recovering from the less severe strain of the disease.
