Wild Fire Burns Homes In Lake Hughes, California

WACO, Texas (AP) — One firefighter has been slightly hurt in a blaze that destroyed four under-construction structures in a $6 million Central Texas housing project.

Steve Sorrells of developer Sorrells and Gunn told the Waco Tribune-Herald (http://bit.ly/1amrvIo ) that he thinks the fire was arson.

Investigators say Sunday morning's fire in Waco was suspicious. Fire Marshal Kevin Vranich says authorities are trying to determine what sparked the blaze in the Cameron Heights development.

Fire department Capt. Robert Beechner says one firefighter suffered a minor injury. Further details weren't immediately released.

Investigators are trying to determine if the fire was linked to a series of blazes within the past two years mainly at vacant homes in Waco. Police and fire officials in June asked the public for tips amid concerns about a possible serial arsonist.
