Tired (And Mocked) Fan Who Slept During Yankees-Red Sox Game Suing for $10 Million [VIDEO]

When this guy finally woke up, he had dollar signs in his eyes.

Andrew Robert Rector is suing ESPN announcers Dan Shulman and John Kruk for $10 million after they poked fun at him when cameras spotted him sleeping during a Boston Red Sox-New York Yankees game the cable channel broadcast back in April.

Just imagine the fun they could’ve had if this little fella been at the game.

It’s the second latest eyebrow-raising lawsuit involving Major League Baseball to make headlines in under a month.

Rector claims the duo poured on an “avalanche of disparaging words” during the April 13 game.

Rector, who claims he “briefly slept,” is also upset the video appeared on Major League Baseball’s website.

Much like crying, Rector says there’s no mocking in baseball:

These unmitigated verbal onslaughts crossed the line between reporting on sport and abuse against the plaintiff without reasonable cause or restraint.”

ESPN, MLB and the Yankees are also named in the lawsuit.

Rector alleges the insults intimate that he “is a fatty cow that need two seats at a time” and “is a confused individual that neither understands nor knows anything about history and the meaning of rivalry between Red Sox and New York Yankee.”

Rector is seeking damages for defamation and emotional distress.

You can watch some of Shulman and Kruk in action during the game in question above and judge for yourself if the criticism is fair (or foul, in baseball parlance).
