Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon Declares It Spring
The show that invites you to call in to buy, sell, and trade every Saturday is so powerful it can even change the seasons, with a wave of it's hand.
You have a standing appointment each Saturday morning from 9am-Noon. It's The Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon and it's radio that is 100% about you and filling your needs. We highly encourage you to call in but if you just want to listen that's great too.
With all the nice weather we're having, with the trees budding, and the birds loving we decided to pronounce it officially "spring" a little over two weeks early. We don't believe in human caused global climate warming cooling changes but something odd and a bit wonderful is going on. Happy spring to you!
THE BIG QUESTION
Along with taking people's classified ad's on the air we also pose a poll question to each caller. About this time every year, and it's become something of a tradition, we always ask you if you think we'll be getting any more snow or whether you think we are done until October.
Will it snow again this season?
I've been a huge proponent of the "one more before Easter" movement for many years now. This is the theory that if there is even one day before Easter the potential still exists for cold weather and snow.
But I don't think that to be the case this year. I feel deep down in my bones winter is now but a memory and the summer is springing as you read.
That's not to say you should go full-on spring yet though.
Along with the regular rules of the program, I always bring you a special Rule #6. It changes every week, sometimes inspired by something that happened to me over the last week, sometimes it's a page from the news, others just off the wall.
This week, you might have heard, we pronounced it officially Spring. We hope you appreciate our proclamation. But as we are human and as human's make mistakes, we thought a cautionary rule was in order.
Rule #6: Don't put the winter weather wear away just yet.
We don't think it will snow again and we've pronounced it Spring but there's no need to tempt fate further by putting away your parka's and snow boots. Leave that stuff out until one week after Easter to be safe.
Thanks for reading, thanks for listening, and if you ever have, thanks for calling in the Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon. Join us this Saturday from 9a-Noon to make a little bit of money and to have a whole lot of fun!
