Early Wednesday Morning Shooting In Amarillo Leaves One Man Wounded

A man was shot at the Colonies at Hillside apartment complex early this morning after a dispute at a party.

APD was called to the complex at 4:35am on a report of aggravated assault.  The call was updated to a report of a man with a gunshot wound before the officers arrived.  At the scene they found a man suffering from a bullet wound in the abdomen.

The shooter, a resident of the complex told police he was having a party and asked on of the guests to leave.  The guest returned a short time later and tried to force his way into the apartment.  The resident then shot the man with a handgun.

The victim was taken to the hospital and police are still investigating the incident.
