DPS Seizes $99,000 Worth Of Cocaine On I-40 Near Amarillo

A Saturday traffic stop turned into a drug seizure.

The DPS pulled over a 2014 Ford Fusion around 3pm Saturday.  The vehicle was near Amarillo in Potter County.

During the stop the trooper conducted a search of the vehicle.  A bundle of cocaine was found in the trunk and the trooper eventually found two more bundles.  The cocaine was valued at around $99,000.

Anthony Roshawn Bens, 37 of Littlerock, Arkansas and Vernon Ward, 53 or Washinton DC were both taken into custody.  The pair was booked into Potter County.

The drugs were allegedly being transported from California to Littlerock, Arkansas.
