Internet connectivity on cell phones has improved by leaps and bounds over the last five years.

According to experts it’s about to take another huge leap with the introduction of the iPhone 5, which is expected to run on Apple’s 4G LTE network.

As of today, iPhone users and the majority of all smartphone users are connected to the web through 3G technology. Is that fast enough, or does the public crave 4G’s even greater speed of connectivity?

According to a poll of 3,000 consumers by Piper Jaffray, 47 percent feel like they don’t need to upgrade to 4G. Another 26 percent believe that it doesn’t really matter anyway because all cell phone networks are all the same.
