DAWGS or the Dalhart Animal Wellness Group and Sanctuary is celebrating 10 years of service.

Diane Trull started the sanctuary in 2003. DAWGS is a no kill, non-profit animal shelter that runs on donations and grants.  The organization gets help and volunteers from all over the country.

Right now the shelter has about 750 dogs ranging from puppies to the full grown variety. The average stay for a dog in the shelter is about six months.

You can help out by adopting a new pet.  DAWGS does adoptions at the shelter and at Petsmart and Petco on Saturdays.
