DALLAS (AP) — A canine named Chloe has been rescued after getting trapped in a Dallas apartment complex drain pipe.

Firefighters used sonar equipment and a camera to locate and then extricate the small dog Wednesday afternoon.

Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a call about a Yorkshire terrier apparently stuck near the end of a drain pipe close to a swimming pool. People nearby heard the stranded dog whining.

Firefighters cut a hole through the pipe to reach Chloe, who had slipped out of the family's apartment and spent about two hours stuck in the pipe.

Capt. Lance Cockrell says it made him feel good to get the dog back to her owners.
