Eating Good in the Neighborhood May Be a Thing of the Past in Amarillo.  The company that owns the Applebee's in Amarillo has filed for bankruptcy.

RMH Franchise Holdings filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday, May 8th.   The company owns 163 Applebee's in 15 states including the two in Amarillo.  It also owns the franchise in Lubbock and 12 other Applebee's in Texas.

What does this mean for the Applebee's on Soncy Rd and Amarillo Blvd.  It is yet unknown if the restaurants will be closing.

RMH Franchise Holdings according to the bankruptcy petition lists it's assets and liabilities between $100 million and $500 million, and that it has 5,000 - 10,000 creditors.

I'll be honest with you, it has been awhile since I have patronized Applebee's.  However, I have noticed that over the last year, maybe two neither location hasn't garnered great reviews.   I do know if the service isn't great people just stop coming to establishments.  Hopefully, the company will be able to reorganize and not have to shut down the restaurants and maybe Amarillo will get to keep one or both Applebee's.  It's now just a wait and see game.
