Collision Near Pampa Kills Two

A head-on collision near Pampa on Tuesday morning killed two people.

The Department of Public Safety reports the Jorge Avalos, 23 of Pampa was traveling eastbound on Highway 70 about 25 miles north of Pampa.  He was driving a 2013 Dodge Stratus.  For a unknown reason Avalos strayed across the center stripe of the highway and struck another vehicle head-on.

Sharon Sweat, 50 or Mobile, Alabama was driving a 2013 Chrysler 4dr on the same highway traveling in the opposite direction when Avalos struck her.

The crash occurred around 6:45am.  The collision killed both drivers.
