EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Nearly a dozen people have been arrested in the investigation of a West Texas crack cocaine ring.

Prosecutors in El Paso on Wednesday night announced the arrest of seven suspected gang members on federal drug conspiracy counts. Four suspects were arrested Tuesday on related state charges.

The federal indictment was returned Nov. 13 and unsealed Wednesday in El Paso.

Authorities say the undercover investigation targeted a gang-affiliated drug trafficking network responsible for distribution of crack and powder cocaine in the El Paso area.
