With the weather getting warmer, water usage in Amarillo is on the rise.  City officials recommend the time to save water is now.

Amarillo has kicked off the 'Every drop counts' campaign.  The annual average of water usage in the city is 43 - 45 million gallons per day.  During the hot summer months that number jumps to an average in the 60's.

A large portion of water usage goes towards water lawns and plants.

Residents are urged to water on two or three times a week to help conserve water.
