Lone Star Milk Producers, Inc. will soon build a new dairy in Canyon.

The dairy plant will be constructed on the west side of Canyon off Highway 60.  The field will utilize the currently empty field next to the Randall County AgriLife Extension.  The plant will cost around $50 million to construct.

The plant is expected to create 60 jobs with a payroll of over $3.5 million dollars.

Construction will begin in October.  Lone Star Milk Producers expects the plant to be open by the end of 2015.
