Our border with New Mexico and Oklahoma will now go unguarded with news that the Border Patrol will be closing it’s Amarillo office and sending our two officer detachment down south to the Mexican border.

I always thought the Border Patrol vehicle here in Amarillo was visiting and attempting to track down the rare illegal alien that appears on the streets of the High Plains.

Actually they have an office here, staffed by a force of two officers.  Rather, had an office here.  The Border Patrol has decided it needs those officers closer to the port of entry.  Posts in Lubbock, Dallas and more will also be closed.  The total number of relocated Border Patrol officers is 41.
