Amarillo police have made an arrest in a Labor Day weekend hit and run.

The authorities we called early Sunday morning to a hit and run at 45th & South Georgia.

Officers found a motorcycle driven by 32-year-old Aisling Christine Martinezo had been struck by a white truck.  The pickup fled the scene.  Martinezo was taken to a local hospital where she later died of her injuries.

Officers located the suspect vehicle in the 6200 block of Colton a short time after the initial collision.  Police took into custody 24-year-old Trevor Dee Boales.  He was booked into Randall County for Intoxicated Manslaughter and Accident causing Injury or Death.

The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.

The Labor Day holiday weekend was a busy one for both police and medical crews in Amarillo.  This hit and run is the most tragic incident reported over the three day weekend.  Amarillo police had heightened their patrols of the area.
