APD Deem Online Serial Rapist Claims False

Maybe you've heard the rumors.  Those about a serial rapist in the Paramount area.  Thankfully, Amarillo Police have determined the rumors are not true.

It's a case of the internet working against us.  The rumors started on Facebook and have quickly spread throughout the community.  The rumors were so widespread many thought the APD was hiding something.

Also not true.

Amarillo Police have debunked the rumors.  And this is a teaching moment for all of us.  The APD have the Nixle program where you can get all releases from the police department and be in the know with what is really happening in our community.  Don't believe rumors.  If you are hearing something and need more information the APD are ready to assist you through Nixle or by calling the Crime Prevention Unit.
