There's so much money and drugs to be interdicted on I-40 the government should contract those services to private business.

The DPS patrolling I-40 near Carson County Friday afternoon pulled over a 2016 Toyota Sienna traveling eastbound near Conway.  During the stop the trooper became suspicious of criminal activity and asked for a canine unit.

Upon arrival the canine unit searched the vehicle and led offices to several wrapped plastic packages of marijuana and cocaine in the floorboards.

The pot is estimated to be worth around $1.15 million and to cocaine over $780,00.

The driver of the Toyota, Irvin McNeal, and the passenger Richard Brown were both arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana and of a controlled substance.  McNeal and Brown were both booked into the Carson County Jail.

The drugs were allegedly being transported from Phoenix, Arizona to Daville, Illinois.

More than $45 million dollars worth of drugs were seized in the Panhandle in 2011, the majority in Carson County.
