Christmas time is here!  The Amarillo Zoo is giving you and your family a fun time with Zoo Lights Safari!

They have decked the halls, trees, bushes and everything but the animals with holiday lights.  The Zoo will share the spirit and sounds of the season for eight nights only. You can stroll the zoo grounds, drink some hot chocolate and enjoy different caroling groups.  Of course, you get to see all the awesome zoo animals!

And of course, the night wouldn't be complete without a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.  Yes, Santa will be there!  Plus, there will be different activities for the kids to enjoy.

You and your family can enjoy thousands of decorated holiday lights.  There will be special appearances by Tiger Claus, Santa Roo and other costumed animal Santa characters.  You will get to see “Bumble” the Zoo’s Holiday Abominable Snowman.  Plus, there will be all kinds of wintery kids games.  And no Christmas would be complete without a nightly reading of the Night Before Christmas and Yes Virginia.

You can warm up with cold blooded creatures in the herpetarium and you'll get to meet Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Blizzard the Polar Bear.  The kids will get to participate in activities and take home crafts and write a letter to Santa at the North Pole mailbox.

And end the night by shopping at the “zootique” gift area for that animal lover in the family.

It is going to be a fun time for the entire family, so make plans to be there.  The Amarillo Zoo Lights Safari will take place on December 11, 12, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 & 23
