Yesterday's election saw Amarillo voters vote down for funding the ARC.

The Amarillo Recreation Complex, a proposed sports complex that would help alleviate overcrowding in area parks was not approved by voters.  54% voted against the proposition.

ARC is a privately and publicly funded project. If approved the measure would have raised property taxes by $25 for a $100,000 property.

ARC supporters have vowed to continue to work on finding funding for the project despite the rejection by voters.
