As the office tried to approach the vehicle to inspect and run the tags the vehicle began accelerating and driving erratically trying to evade the office.

The vehicle eventually stopped in an alley in the 1000 block of North Seminole.  The driver fled on foot.  After a short foot chase and after refusing several commands from police to stop the suspect was tased and taken into custody.

39-year-old Cruz Cortinez Perales was arrested for various charges including possession.  He was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

He was taken to Potter County.
