Amarillo Police Officer Terminated Being Accused Of Sexually Assaulting A Woman While On Duty

An Amarillo Police office was accused of sexually assaulting a woman while on duty.

An investigation was begun immediately  by the Crimes Against Persons Unit.  The investigation was also in consultation with the 47th District Attorney's office.

With mounting evidence against him Officer Micah Meurer has been terminated from the force in an announcement made by acting Chief of Police, Kenneth Funtek.  He was terminated effective 9pm last night.

The investigation continues.
