Amarillo Police Nab Walmart Shoplifter

Amarillo police investigating a shoplifting got their man on Monday.

Employees of the Walmart at 5730 Amarillo Boulevard West called police around 8pm Monday evening to report a man stealing a weed eater who had fled the scene.  The thief was seen leaving in a green and tan Chevrolet Suburban.

The Suburban was spotted by police pulling into the parking lot at the United Supermarket at 5601 Amarillo Boulevard West.  Police were questioning the driver, 39-year-old Adam Solis, Jr. when they noticed the weed eater in the back of the Suburban.  Witnesses later identified Solis as the suspect.

According to the authorities Solis has six previous convictions for theft in various jurisdictions.  He was arrested and booked into Potter County jail for Theft with two or more previous convictions.

The weed eater was returned to Walmart and is part of the latest price rollback.
