On Sunday morning a drive by shooting had police looking for a suspect.

By Monday afternoon the authorities had identified 19-year-old Derrick Tremain Coatney as the primary suspect.  He was charged through the 47th district court for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct.  He allegedly shot a pedestrian once and a second shot he fired hit a home drawing the deadly conduct charge.

The incident originally happened in the 1400 block of North Highland.  The victim told police he was walking across the street when the driver of a green Dodge Charger shot at him.  He was hit in the upper arm with a non-life threatening injury but was transported to the hospital.  The second shot hit a home on North Highland.

The suspect fled the scene the victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Coatney is currently in the Potter County Detention Center.
